Éric Racine is a full professor at the Department of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and at the Department of Social and Preventative Medicine at the School of Public Health of the University of Montreal. He is also the director of the Pragmatic Health ethics research unit at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute.

Éric Racine is an internationally recognized researcher in bioethics with multiple major contributions for the development of neuro-ethics and pragmatics ethics.
Inspired by the philosophical pragmatism, his research aims to highlight the experience lived by patients and parties in ethically problematic situations and to solve in a collaborative way by a deliberative process. He is the author of more than 170 peer-reviewed publications, edited volumes, and scientific journals “Pragmatic Neuroethics” published at the MIT Press.
