Aris Hadjinicolaou

Dr. Aris Hadjinicolaou is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Neurosciences, co-leader of the epilepsy surgery program, and co-leader of Quebec's first comprehensive neuromodulation program. He is also the Director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Fellowship Program at the University of Montreal.

As a pediatric neurologist and epileptologist, Dr. Hadjinicolaou graduated in medicine from the University of Montreal. He completed his residency in pediatrics at McGill University, followed by a fellowship in pediatric neurology at the University of Toronto’s SickKids Hospital, and then a fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard University.

In the laboratory he co-directs with Dr. Alexander Weil, his research focuses on pediatric epilepsy, identifying predictive factors for post-surgery outcomes, discovering new treatments, and applying new technologies in epilepsy neurosurgery. The goal of this program is to make surgery safer and more effective, improving patient survival rates.
