Marco Bonizzato is an associate professor at Polytechnique and at the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Montreal.

His laboratory aims to develop a new generation of intelligent "neuroprosthetics." His research focuses on brain-machine interfaces and neuromodulation technologies.

The objectives are:

  • To pave the way for new treatments for paralysis, directly targeting brain regions responsible for movement control, enhancing immediate movement performance, and facilitating long-term functional recovery.
  • To enable the optimization and personalization of neurostimulation using artificial intelligence (AI) for each user.
  • To clinically apply sensory and motor neuroprostheses and digital learning algorithms for medical devices.
