Nicolas Bergeron is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology at the University of Montreal. He is also a psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry at the CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal). He serves as the President of the Quebec Society of Consultation-Liaison and Psychosomatic Medicine.
His research focuses on:
- Randomized controlled trials comparing haloperidol, quetiapine, and placebo in the pharmacological treatment of delirium in intensive care units.
- Prevalence and predictors of delirium upon admission in patients hospitalized for severe burns.
- The experience of delirium in victims of severe burns.
- The evolution and risk factors for psychopathology in survivors of severe burns.
- The validation of a Canadian-French version of the Posttraumatic Adjustment Scale (PAS) among victims of severe burns.
- Promoting resilience and recovery after the fires in Fort McMurray in 2016.
