Nicolas Bergeron

Nicolas Bergeron is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology at the University of Montreal. He is also a psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry at the CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal). He serves as the President of the Quebec Society of Consultation-Liaison and Psychosomatic Medicine.

His research focuses on:

  1. Randomized controlled trials comparing haloperidol, quetiapine, and placebo in the pharmacological treatment of delirium in intensive care units.
  2. Prevalence and predictors of delirium upon admission in patients hospitalized for severe burns.
  3. The experience of delirium in victims of severe burns.
  4. The evolution and risk factors for psychopathology in survivors of severe burns.
  5. The validation of a Canadian-French version of the Posttraumatic Adjustment Scale (PAS) among victims of severe burns.
  6. Promoting resilience and recovery after the fires in Fort McMurray in 2016.
