Pierre Blanchet, an Associate Professor in the Departments of Stomatology and Neuroscience and also a neurologist, explores basal ganglia disorders and their resultant movement issues from both pathophysiological and therapeutic perspectives.

He focuses on the late complications of antipsychotic medications and biomarkers for early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, conducting clinical trials on individuals with involuntary facial, mouth, and jaw movements (orofacial dyskinesia), investigating its link to oral health, and participates in clinical trials for individuals with Gilles de la Tourette syndrome.
