Simone Dalla Bella is a Full Professor at the University of Montreal's Department of Psychology. He is also the codirector of the International Laboratory for Brain, Music and Sound Research (BRAMS) and is chairholder for Casavant in neuropsychology and musical cognition and chairholder for the Canadian research (level 1) in learning of audition and motor abilities in music and new technologies.
He obtained a Doctorate in Cognitive Psychology and a Master's in Piano Interpretation. His research are about musical abilities and the effects on the general population, on people who have musical deficits (tone and rhythmic deaf) or illnesses (neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental). He uses behavioural methods, movement capture, EEG and exploits new mobile technologies for testing and training.
