Miriam Beauchamp has been named Researcher of the Month!

Dr. Miriam Beauchamp, a neuropsychologist and researcher at CHU Sainte-Justine, is a leading figure in the study of concussions in young children.

She recently led a pioneering study that revealed the effects of concussions can linger up to three months after the incident in children aged six and under. This is a major advancement in understanding the long-term impacts of brain injuries in this age group.

Additionally, Dr. Beauchamp received significant funding of $6.5 million from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation for the LIFESPAN project, conducted with principal co-researcher Louis de Beaumont of Sacré-Cœur Hospital in Montreal. This project aims to study the biological risks associated with concussions at different ages. This innovative project, which uses artificial intelligence for data analysis and a mobile laboratory for immediate diagnostics after an incident, confirms Dr. Beauchamp's leadership position in pediatric cranio-cerebral trauma research (Azrieli Research Center).
