Sylvana Côté is a professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at the School of Public Health of the University of Montreal (ESPUM), as well as at the CHU Sainte-Justine. A member of the Royal Society of Canada, she also serves as the Director of the Research Group on Child Psychosocial Maladjustment (GRIP) and the Observatory for Children's Education and Health (OPES). Since March 2024, she has held a new Canada Research Chair in the prevention of psychosocial and educational problems in childhood.
Dr. Côté’s research focuses on the prevention of psychosocial and educational problems in children. Her interdisciplinary approach combines public health, social medicine, and prevention, with the goal of improving the living conditions and future prospects of young people. Among her many contributions, she has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of effective prevention programs, while also promoting public policies that support children's health and well-being.
Dr. Côté’s commitment to research and her dedication to improving the lives of children make her a key figure in the field of public health. Her work is a source of inspiration for the entire scientific community.
