Daniel Lévesque is a full professor and vice-dean – responsible for research and post-graduate studies at the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Pharmacy.

His expertise fields include the discovery and the validation of biological targets, pharmacotherapy (central nervous system).

While he was researching on Parkinson’s disease, the research of Professor Lévesque focus on the conception of highly selective modulators of the complex nuclear receptor Nur77/RXR, a new promising pharmacological target for anormal involuntary movement disease or dyskinesia caused by Levodopa.

The collaboration of IRICoR, a Canadian centre for the discovery and research commercialization of drugs, the University of Montreal, the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer of the Université de Montréal and Valence Discovery, a new actor in the conception of medication by AI focused on the creation of drugs for the treatment of dyskinesia uses the research from Professor Levesque’s laboratory.
