Robert Paul Juster is an assistant professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal. He is also chairholder of the Sex and Gender Science Chairs and the director of the research laboratory on sex, gender, allostasis and resilience (CESAR).

Researcher in neuroscience, his work is mainly about the study of chronic stress considering the effects of gender, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

The professor’s research interests include the study of the allostasis charge, a measure of long-term consequences of chronic stress in people. In his research, he considers different variables linked to gender and sex to identify the differences and possible explanations. He is interested to biological and social determinants of chronic stress. Apart from being a researcher, he is also director and the founder of the Research centre on sex, gender, allostasis and resilience (CESAR).
